Maeker

DRAFT — placeholder content to be reviewed by a professional before launch (G3 / EAA). Editing this file is the only step needed; no code change. Confirm the enforcement-body reference and the feedback contact with counsel for the final market.

Accessibility Statement

Maeker is committed to making its marketplace usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Accessibility is also a legal requirement for e-commerce under the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which we take seriously.

Last updated: 6 July 2026.

Scope

This statement covers the Maeker web application at this domain — browsing, product and shop pages, cart and checkout, account and order management, and the seller dashboard.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the standard referenced by the EAA and by EN 301 549. The site is partially conformant: most of the standard is met, but some content (below) does not yet fully conform, and a full independent audit is still pending.

Measures we have taken

  • A skip link to the main content and a single, consistent main landmark on every page, so keyboard and screen-reader users can move around quickly.
  • Keyboard operability for interactive components — dialogs trap and restore focus, menus support arrow-key navigation, and the rating control is a proper radio group.
  • Respect for the reduced-motion system setting (animations and autoplay are neutralised).
  • Programmatic labels on form fields, address autofill hints, grouped radio/checkbox sets, and inline validation errors that are announced.
  • Semantic headings, meaningful link and control names, and translated labels so assistive technology announces the right language on both the English and German sites.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working to address them:

  • Seller-uploaded product images currently use the listing title as their text alternative rather than an author-written description of each image.
  • Seller-uploaded videos do not yet have captions.
  • The German versions of some legal documents are awaiting professional translation; until then those pages are shown in English.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or need information from this site in a different format, please contact us — we welcome feedback and aim to respond promptly:

Please describe the problem and the page it occurred on.

Enforcement

If you contact us about an accessibility problem and are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate the matter to the competent accessibility enforcement body in your country. (The specific supervisory authority for the launch market is to be confirmed with counsel before launch.)
